Beadlet Anemone – Actinia equina 

Beadlet anemones are one of the most common species you will find on your local rockyshore. They mostly red, but can vary in colour from brown to yellow. When closed they look like a small red blob, but in the water they unveil their tentacles to feed in the water, looking much more like a beautiful flower! But these tentacles hold harpoons that proove deadly for any small species floating in the water… don’t worry they are not dangerous to humans but you can find our all about them in this video or check out the gallery for photos of this species!
