Flat Topshell – Gibbula umbilicalis

This anoth Flat topshells are cute a curious creatures, one of my favourite encounters with a species was with a little flat top shell that was more than happy to come out of its shell and pose for the camera! I hadn’t met any creature yet that was quite as charismatic as this little fellow! There are a lot of topshells on the rockyshore, which I do have a guide for, but the easiest way to tell this one apart is the small pattern on its shell and at the bottom of the shell next to where the nail lives will be a small dot/indent, just like am umblical chord… hence the name!
