Hermit Crab – Pagarus bernhardus

WHAT LITTLE LOVELIES! Hermit crabs bring pure joy to anyone who finds them rockpooling – the East coast of the UK seems to always be particulary full of them too. Not true crabs, these little creatures need to find shells of snails to live in protect themselves. This makes the feisty with each other fighting for the perfect shell, a little bit clumsy if the shell is too big and trusting of rockpoolers (after a quick dart into their shell for safety) because they feel protected by there favoruite shell home. They are beatiful colours, curiose creatures filled with bundles of personailty! I love them!
